extremely loud and incredibly close by jonathan safran foer

I am probably the last one to read this one, but here we go anyway!

What I liked about this book was that Oscar, the main character, made up his own words for certain things and moods. My favorite ones were ”like 100 dollars” which he used whenever he felt good about himself and ”heavy boots” which was for when I felt sad and lonely.

The book is as I just said, about Oscar whose dad is dead. It is evident from the start that because of that he deals with a lot of emotions. And some parts of the book is about that, how Oscar deals with the loss of his father and what he does to cope. But other parts are clearly written by someone else, someone whom you keep wondering about.

All in all it was a funny, clever and sometimes sad story which I liked a lot. The only thing I missed was someone to discuss it with when the story ended.
